the Junior / Intermediate performers
One of the most enriching experiences for the younger members has been the numerous exchanges we’ve done with other Filipino dance groups across Canada, notably Vancouver and Edmonton, through the Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) exchange program.
These exchanges offer a multitude of benefits that contribute to the personal, cultural, and artistic growth of these young dancers. Some of these benefits include
the chance to connect and form friendships with other Filipinos of the same age across the nation,
the opportunity to train under other artistic directors and dance leaders, confidence building from performing in new places in front of new audiences, and so much more.
Their youthful exuberance is not just a source of pride, but also a promise for the future, ensuring that our traditions are carried forward with passion and authenticity! These junior / intermediate performers will eventually be promoted to performing members that will help PAMANA continue to showcase Philippine Folkloric culture through dance and music.

PAMANA Members
the performing group & peer mentors
These PAMANA performers are composed of our most experienced dancers. Through the culmination of years of dedication and practice, they have become ambassadors of cultural richness within and outside of PAMANA. They play a crucial role in mentoring the younger members, passing down not only PAMANA’s approach to dance technique, but also the cultural significance embedded in each movement, dance, music, and even costume. This mentorship fosters a sense of continuity and tradition within the group.
As the most seasoned members of the group, they are able to showcase their artistry on the international stage. One of PAMANA’s goals is to travel abroad every few years to participate in CIOFF (International Council of Organisations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts) around the world. Some of our past trips have included: Czech Republic (2010), Slovenia (2010), Croatia (2010), Portugal (2013), Spain (2013), North Cyprus (2016). These festivals have become one of the most exciting stages for the senior dancers as it gives them the chance to showcase the beauty of the Filipino culture to new audiences, while engaging with others from around the world, fostering a global understanding of traditional dance, music, and costume.
The Performing Group also actively participates in the behind-the-scenes operations of PAMANA, whether it be through the Production Team, Executive Board, or even both. This has given the chance and opportunity for many of the Senior members to develop in ways that benefit them personally, academically, professionally, creatively, and much more. Truly, they have become the strategic minds behind PAMANA”s vision and are instrumental in steering the group towards a vibrant future.
A silent force that plays a pivotal role in the group’s success are the Parents’ Committee and other volunteers within PAMANA. These members are composed of the dedicated parents, friends and family of PAMANA’s performers. They provide unwavering support that extends from practice to the backstage at performances and productions.
